Open Porch with a Trex Deck

This spacious open porch in Harrisburg, N.C. was designed to let the owners enjoy their outdoor space without enclosing their porch with screens.  The deck surface is covered with Trex Transcend deck boards in Spiced Rum with hidden fasteners for a seamless, smooth feel.  The deck rails are Trex Transcend post sleeves, skirts, caps, and railing along with black, round aluminum ballusters.  The open porch has a gable roof with a detailed front gable design.  The ceiling is a tongue and groove pine beaded panel with a Sherwin Williams stain.  The ceiling also has 4 recessed can lights and a ceiling fan with all wires and switches hidden in the hollow, laminated porch columns with Sherwin Williams paint to match the exterior trim of the house.  Step outside of the house and immediately you feel like you can relax and enjoy being outside.

Trex Deck, Pergola and Urbana Tumbled Pavers

Deckscapes designed and built this project for our client in south Charlotte earlier this year.  The reason I liked this project so much was the transition from what the backyard looked like to the finished project.  The yard was in complete disarrayIt had an old deck and pergola that was barely standing.  I wish I had the 'before' picture to show you.   We started by removing the old deck, large pergola, faulty wiring, crumbling fire pit and numerous bushes and trees.  Then we built a small but functional Trex deck using Trex Transcends Spiced Rum decking with hidden fasteners and a Trex Transcends railing in White with black aluminum ballusters.  Next we built the large pergola using Pressure Treated Pine.  The beams and rafters have a scrolled cut on the ends for an attractive look.  We wired the pergola for a future ceiling fan and a switch on the 6x6 column.  After the pergola was constructed, we graded the yard and readied the area for the pavers.  We installed approximately 460 square feet of  Belgard Urbana tumbled pavers along with a matching border and step down to the yard.  Then we installed the Belgard stone about a third of the way up the 6x6 posts to finish off the look.  Lastly we installed new sod around the new site to really give the project that finished look.  I loved the way it turned out and I know our clients loved it too. This yard transition by Deckscapes will really help them to Enjoy Being Outside.

Screened Porch with Fireplace and Wall Sconces

Here is a beautiful screened porch in the Murrayhill section of Charlotte.  The porch is tall enough off of the ground to accommodate the homeowners need for a workshop down below.  The floors are pressure treated pine with a Sherwin Williams stain.  The porch walls consist of 6x6 Cox laminated porch posts and the railing is round, black aluminum Deckorator ballusters.  The ceiling consists of 1x6 V-Groove panels with a pickled Sherwin Williams white stain.  The room is balanced off with a vent free gas fireplace with cultured stone, large cedar mantle, stone hearth and a TV for loads of fun evenings outside with family or friends.  The room is lit up with 7 wall sconces and 2 ceiling fans keep it cool during the warm summer nights.

Classic Screened Porch with Trex Deck and Bluestone Patio

This is a very classic screened porch with an adjoining Trex deck and a Bluestone patio and firepit.  The home is located in the Mountain Island lake area of Charlotte, NC.  The porch has Island Mist Trex flooring, Trex Transcend railing with black round aluminum ballusters,  a beaded 1x6 wood ceiling with recessed can lighting, ceiling fan, and paint to match the trim on the house.  The adjoining deck is the same matching Trex Island Mist decking, with Trex 6x6 posts, Trex Transcend railing in white, black ballusters, and a matching Island Mist top cap.  All the decking is secured using Trex hidden fasteners.  The lower area consists of a Bluestone patio which is accented with a wood burning fire pit.  Enjoy Being Outside.
